Wallace Saunders joins the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity and participates in the Sixth Annual LCLD Summit
The Sixth Annual Leadership Council on Legal Diversity Summit was held June 24-25 at the Harvard Law School in Cambridge, Mass. Kevin Weakley, Managing Partner, attended this event, which included industry leading speakers and group breakout sessions with other legal professionals. Workshops included a robust dialogue about the first 10 years of LCLD, recruiting and retention issues surrounding diversity and inclusion, and how to turn passion into action. Recurring themes were impact, innovation, and inspiration.
The first day of the summit focused specifically on how the LCLD has evolved and what has been learned through the process. Understanding what the LCLD stands for and its background was crucial for the rest of the seminar. The second day of the summit focused on roundtable discussions. Topics included “Inclusive Teams,” “Collaborating for Change,” “Diversity as a Key Performance Indicator,” and “Sponsorship 2.0.” Following the roundtables, participants were asked to reflect while learning how to develop their own diversity and inclusion narrative.
“It was an invigorating experience to be able to connect with other law firm leaders and exchange ideas on what is and is not working with trying to promote a more inclusive and diverse law firm,” Weakley said. “Wallace Saunders supports diversity and inclusion initiatives which help enhance the learning experience and collaboration of our attorneys. We are excited about our new partnership with the LCLD and the opportunities LCLD can provide us to become better equipped with supporting and promoting firm-wide diversity and inclusion.”
